What's the w.p.k.a?

Kobukan LogoThe organization was established by, shihan Maezawa Takayoshi,8th dan, in 1985 in Tokyo, Japan.

The initials represent the two parts of our activities. One is the karate, the international budo (martial arts) exchange association (I.B.E.A), and the other is the pro-karate, the world pro-karate association (W.P.K.A).

The W.P.K.A has recently celebrated itfs 18th year of activities and the 19th tournament.

Frequently used techniques
  1. Punch to the face
  2. Low kick
  3. Elbow strike to body
  4. Spinning back kick
  5. Roll kick

THE BASIC REQUESTS

The basic request for entrance as a prokarate fighters are;

  1. Karate players from shodan level up who desire to be a pro karate fighters.
  2. Players who have a complete understanding of karate spirit, but are coming from another fighting style like: Kick boxing, French boxing,Taekwando, Mue Thai, Kong-fu, Pro wrestling.Participants status and rank in the organization,will be determined by a contract.

White belt -- 8kyu
Blue belt -- 7kyu
Yellow belts -- 4 and 3 kyu
Brown belts -- 2 and 1 kyu
